Troop 3 is chartered by Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 15919 Ridge Park Drive, located in Copperfield in Northwest Harris county, Texas. We are a member of the Copperhead District in the Sam Houston Council. We currently have about 20 active scouts. Our meetings are held weekly at the church from 7:00 to 8:30 each Monday night. Check our calendar for specifics. We normally schedule one camp-out each month during the school year, except December. We plan a week long summer camp following the end of school year. LeadershipOur new scoutmaster for 2006 is Mr. David Yeary, Mr Yeary has attended training sessions at University of Scouting as scout leader. Assistant Scoutmasters are Mr. Rod Kuntz and Mr. Ray Anderson Committee Chairman is Ellen Haynie Advancement Chairman is Dave Speller. Treasurer is Bill Wade. Training Chairman is Becky Speller. Service Project chair is Bill Wade.
Service ProjectsAbout eight times a year, Troop 3 engages in service activities at Special Cheers, an outdoor camp that provides assistance to autistic children. Troop 3 also participates in assisting the church in clean-up, maintenance and painting activities.
