Troop 3 is chartered by Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 15919 Ridge Park Drive, located in Copperfield in Northwest Harris county, Texas. We are a member of the Rising Star District in the Sam Houston Council. We currently have about 20 active scouts. In the last two years, we have graduated four Eagle Scouts. Our meetings are held weekly at the church from 7:00 to 8:30 each Monday night. Check our calendar for specifics. We normally schedule one camp-out each month during the school year, except December. We plan a week long summer camp following the end of school year. LeadershipOur new scoutmaster for 2006 is Mr. David Yeary, who is replacing Mr. Tony Cannata, having served two years in this role. Mr Yeary has attended training sessions at University of Scouting as scout leader. Assistant Scoutmasters are Mr. Rod Kuntz and Mr. Ray Anderson Committee Chairman is Mike Ramsey Advancement Chairman is Dave Speller. Treasurer is Joyce Pankonien. Training Chairman is Becky Speller. Service Project chair is Bill Wade.
Service ProjectsFour times a year, Troop 3 engages in cleaning up litter on the grass shoulders and the esplanade of Telge Rd between West Road and Highway 290. Troop 3 also participates in assisting the church in clean-up, maintenance and painting activities.
